We enjoyed a wonderful lunch today at The One Tapas & Bar in Matthews, NC. We sampled the octopus, red snapper special and the surf and turf. They were beautifully presented and very flavorful. The service was attentive and enjoyable. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners who was knowledgeable and customer oriented. This cozy and charming restaurant is a gem in the Matthews and Charlotte community. It exceeded our expectations as evidenced in the positive reviews. It is locally owned and well worth a visit. We are looking forward to returning!
Dropped by this place to celebrate Christmas with my mom. To keep it simple and light in calories, :D we decided to order the Holiday Prix Fixe menu. It was a great combo deal! We chose the Jumbo Sea Scallop, but also ordered an extra Potato Leek soup (outside the combo), for the entree, we chose Chilean Sea Bass, and finished the feast with a delicious Buche De Noel dessert. Ordered some sweet cocktails to add to the celebration. Dishes were executed and presented perfectly. Service was impeccable. It was a great holiday experience.
First time here, AMAZING and did NOT disappoint!!! From the service, to drinks and most importantly to the food, everything was on point! I looked at all the tapas bars in and around charlotte and this place had a 4.7 rating (MORE THAN PLACES IN UPTOWN) and BIGGER portions to some. Quality and flavor wise everything was perfect. Could not recommend this place ENOUGH for date night. Drove 30 minutes to this place and it was worth it!!!!
My family and visited this place to catch up with each other. Sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the fresh air while we chatted. LOVED the cocktails we ordered, especially the lychee martinis! Our favorites were the wagyu sliders, octopus, truffle angus steak, head on prawns and the baked mussels. We found our new hangout spot
Dont know why or how I’ve missed this place - And kind of happy it doesnt seem to have gotten its just due. This is truly one of charlotte’s finest restaurants! Every thing Ive eaten here is absolutely a knockout. If this place was in noda or southpark it would easily be one of the hottest restaurants in town. The diverse menu has at least a few items for anyone. wether its asian, italian or american inspired dishes- they are all done perfectly. And the 2 deserts i tried (tiramisu & chocolate grenache ) were uniquely under sweetened- which made them a little different and fantastic. Great service , great cocktails and really impressive food.
Dined in recently to celebrate the holidays. The place is very cozy with clean and modern, urban vibe. We ordered the truffle mushroom fries, Lobster chowder soup, Chef’s Daily Special Seared Salmon, Braised Short Ribs, Surf & Turf, and finalized the meal with very rich Tres Leches. The dishes were well executed and rich in flavors and well presented. The service was definitely impeccable. We were very pleased with the overall experience. It's a great local dining gem. Highly recommend and will return for more.
This place was absolutely amazing! We came here on the 1st night of the power outage in charlotte after Hurricane Helene. The place was packed,but Alice made room for us at the bar. There were so many options to choose from, but I didn't want to order too much because I couldn't take anything home! We were greeted by the most courteous server Monica, who gave us suggestions on drinks and food. I had to start with the oxtail empanadas! Best choice of my life! It was so good I ate my husband's while he took a phone call..lol, next up, we had the waygu slides. Also a great choice. The fries were so crispy. Then, we had the glazed crispy pork belly. Now, it was delicious but paired with that slaw, and the charred peppers took it to the next level. Finally, we finished off with the creme brulee. I wanted to order 2, but I settled for 1. This was a great place to spend our night! Made some new friends and got a new spot to frequent. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the great experience!
Went in for lunch we love tapas because of the variety at good prices. So Kevin was our waiter. So nice. He suggested a nice dry red wine. On point. He was so attentive and packed up all the leftovers to carry home. I'm gonna tell y'all don't walk run to place. Thanks chef for a great meal and leftovers. Will only eat here when I'm in Charlotte from now on.
